Jack Kerouac - On the RoadOn the Road.pdf eBook | PDF Pages: 178 | File Size: 1 MB |

A book that inspired so many great artist in the 60's, the whole Beat and psychedelic Generation, including The Doors' Jim Morrison. All of them were in awe to the journey taken by Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady) and Sal Paradise (Jack Kerouac himself) across the whole United States, which in the telling captures so many things from humanity, jazz, the US landscape, and women. It's all summed up in the beginning of the book: "with the coming of Dean Moriarty began the part of my life you could call my life on the road."

Summary of a review by Amazon.com Customer (147 of 175 people found the following review helpful):
Published in 1957, this autobiographical novel by Jack Kerouac captured the spirit that was seething underneath 1950s conformity...The narrator, Sal Paradise, is on an epic quest, one that takes him back and forth across the country with Dean Moriarity who is based on the real-life Neal Cassady. Dean, the reform school escapee who specializes in stealing cars, is Sal's mentor...There's more to the book than the story though. The book is a trip, in every sense of the word...With him I sat in a car driven by Dean Moriarity, speeding for hours at 110 miles an hour and not even thinking about a seatbelt...Yes, I felt I was there with the travelers, enjoying vicariously the thrills and the chills and knowing this would be my only entry into that world. Jack Kerouac eventually became an alcoholic and died an early death, but I'm personally grateful for this book he left behind and the experience of reading it. Highly recommended.--Linda Linguvic

I have checked wikipedia and sparknotes and both list there are only 5 Parts in this book. Each part contains different number of chapters.

For the number of pages, this eBook uses larger paper format (Letter) that's why it has fewer pages compared to the printed version.
