Download Mark Waid, Alex Ross - Kingdom Come PDF eBookReleased by DC Comics as mini-series, Kingdom Come is a fantastic graphic novel that shines a new light on one of the authentic classics of the graphic novel genre. The story written by Alex Ross and Mark Waid and the marvelous realistic illustrations by Ross will take readers into an alternate version of DC Universe, about twenty years into the future. In this future, superheroes have grown old and each is haunted by their own problems.
There is a growing conflict between "traditional" superheroes, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and the whole Justice League, and a rising community of new vigilantes. Most of them from this new population, in many cases the offspring of the traditional heroes, are amoral and dangerously irresponsible vigilantes. The conflict between the two groups will mean disaster and destruction and it is Batman and his assembled team who attempt to restrain it and prevent a world-ending superhuman war. The clash reaches it peaks when Captain Marvel enters the picture and duels Superman in a never-ending battle. There’s also a romantic side story between Kal-El and Diana (Wonder Woman).
Kingdom Come graphic novel has awed not only comic fans but also readers in general. Originally published in 1996, it still feels fresh and relevant even to this day.
