Truckers: The First Book of the Nomes is a hilarious children fantasy novel written by the late Sir Terry Pratchett, English writer famous for his Discworld Series. The book is the first book in the Nome Trilogy, which later is also known as The Bromeliad Trilogy. The series depicts the world and the quest of the Nomes. They are tiny 4-inch people who live hidden under humans. Although the novel is intended for children, many adult readers enjoy the satiric humor presented by Pratchett.

The story in Truckers: The First Book of the Nomes starts from beneath the floor of a place called the Store. There lies a different, exciting world, full of four-inch-tall people known as Nomes.  No humans ever see them because they hide themselves so well. Among those nomes, there is a belief that “the Store” created by the Arnold Bros. is their place to live in. When the Arnold Bros declared "Everything under One Roof," the tiny nomes believes there is no such thing as Outside.

However, the world of nomes of the Store quickly changes when a group of nomes arrives on a truck from the Outside. This newly arrived nomes talk about the bright Day and the dark Night, the cold Snow, and other crazy myths. The situation becomes uncertain when they hear the shocking news: The Store will be demolished. Now, it' is all depend on one of the Outside nomes, Masklin. He has to plan a courageous get away plan to bring the Nomes of the Store into a new, bigger world.
